Hello and welcome welcome to this week's #FridayFeelgood

I don't know about you but here in Northern Ireland we've been experiencing exceptionally good weather and I really feel like it's been the buzz we've all needed after a rather damp start to the year!

If we've recently connected - this is my little Friday space where I like to share something great from my week and I love to hear back from you too, because we could always use a little more positivity in our lives!

So what's been your big (or small) best moment this week?

For me this week, there are a few 'competing' highlights.

First off was my trip to the inaugural Impact Players conference which was the opportunity to step into a room of powerhouse women, allies, and life-changing conversations!

Lisa Strutt and Sinead Starkey-Steenson created the event and it was a really fantastic day full of inspiration.

Impact Players focused on the connection between sports and leadership and although this voiceover generally works alone, it was great to gain some insight into how others approach life, business, challenges and I came away with a lot. One thing in particular that Victoria Armstrong said was 'replace your fear with curiosity' - when you don't want to do something - get curious about the reason why....

This benefitted me this morning when I was using my indoor cycle trainer and a certain element of it has always been my nemesis but today I got curious and instead of moping about it, I drilled down into WHY it didn't work for me and now I feel 100% better about doing it in the future! I'm looking forward to using this approach with some other aspects of VO life too!

The final highlight was where it all comes full circle because on the same day as Impact Players I was the host of a pub quiz for my former teammates in Belfast Roller Derby.

I left sport behind shortly before I finished school and it would be a long time before I would find it again. In 2011 I found Belfast Roller Derby and although I'm retired now I would say a little part of me will always belong to it.

Summed up, my feelgood is that sport is a great tool for teaching you transferable survival skills in life and I wish everyone could belong to some sort of sport!

Have a great weekend!
